Healdsburg police activity reported for Aug. 10 through 16 included arrests involving a loaded firearm, felony vandalism, criminal threats and drug paraphernalia, along with reports of vehicle damage, suspected fraud and other incidents across the city.
According to a police post on Facebook, officers conducted a vehicle search after a sobriety stop and found a loaded, unserialized firearm and ammunition within the driver’s reach, as well as a glass pipe. Police said the driver was prohibited from possessing firearms and ammunition because of a previous felony conviction and was arrested. The log did not specify the date of the stop.
On Aug. 11, an officer arrested a 37-year-old man at Walmart on Hembree Lane in connection with a previous felony vandalism incident in Healdsburg. He was booked into Sonoma County Jail. That day, police also took reports involving a slashed tire at Appellation Healdsburg on Dovetail Lane and vandalism at Manor Court, where eggs and cat food were used on a vehicle and other property.
A man arrested Aug. 13 after fleeing from officers at the L&M Motel was booked into county jail on allegations of criminal threats, vandalism and resisting arrest. The log states that the man ran toward the railroad tracks before being detained by the police chief and taken into custody by two officers.
Other arrests and citations during the week included a 63-year-old woman cited for possession of drug paraphernalia and violation of probation, a 67-year-old woman cited and released on an outstanding Sonoma County warrant for failure to appear, and a 28-year-old man cited and released for violation of probation after officers contacted occupants of a vehicle with open containers at Badger Park.
Police also documented a report that a person accessed a resident’s banking information and defrauded him of $900. The affected account was closed, and the resident and a joint account holder were advised about next steps.
Additional calls included a reported overdose at the Russian River Trailer Park, a report of a possible gunshot near Badger Park with no evidence located, a check altered after being mailed, a vehicle collision, graffiti and a disturbance at a McDonald’s.
